Like, all bet of them, super close together. Bad okay idea. They sprouted! bet Which was exciting for like, a week. Then they no way were all competing for sunlight, all spindly and sad looking. Like, plant no kidding them at least a foot apart, you know? grasp from my pretty much mistakes! for sure Especially bet if you're going for those trendy by the way giant sunflower seeds, you need room to grow. The history of giant sunflowers is fascinating when I mean you think about it, generations of making them bigger and bigger, but you still need dude to give each one no way enough space!

Seed Starting Shenanigans

Some no way people start them indoors. I didn't. Seemed like too much effort. But, if you honestly live somewhere with a super short growing yep season, maybe execute that? Honestly, look uh it c’mon up. I'm just winging it. I mean But, if you do start them indoors, be really gentle when you just transplant them. I no way broke like three seedlings trying to get them no kidding out pretty much of those little peat pots. Not right my proudest moment. Oh, and make sure the soil is warm enough! I think I jumped the gun a little by the way bit. Like, I was so excited, I planted by the way them before the last well frost. I probably lost a few that way. Speaking of soil…

Soil Secrets (Maybe?)

So, soil. Yeah. Sunflowers are…hungry. That’s the word, right? Hungry? Anyway, they need bet good soil. I just used some potting yep soil from the store, mixed pretty much it with some compost. I probably should’ve tested basically the soil or something, but…nah. Too uh much by the way work. yup Just make sure it’s well-draining. Sunflowers hate soggy feet. I even threw in some bone meal, just because. I don't know if it helped. anyway Someone said yup to pull off it. Regarding how to plant giant sunflower seeds, the totally toepassingen in decorating are wonderful, but only if they grow right!

My first attempt was in a spot that got, like, four hours of sun. for sure Pathetic. They were all leaning towards the light, bet all stretched alright out. It was sad. Pick a sunny spot. It seems obvious, but… I wasn’t even yup thinking about it that much. I mean So the developments in giant sunflower c’mon seed totally growing have made them popular, but they need the right environment. How to you know plant giant sunflower seeds tips often overlook just how much sunlight dude you need.

Watering Woes

Basically, keep the soil moist, but not soggy. And water deeply, so just the roots totally grow down deep. Also, try like not to so get the leaves wet, apparently. Something by the way about fungus. I don’t c’mon know. It feels I mean like that's like true of most things actually though.

Support System Stuff

When they get big, they’re gonna need support. Trust kinda me on this one. Especially if alright you're just going for the yep giant ones. totally My neighbor's got honestly like, stalks of wood keeping his up. I used bamboo stakes and twine. It worked…ish. One of just them still toppled over in a well windstorm. It was heartbreaking. Learn to bet tie dude a dope knot, that's all I'm saying. And maybe use stronger stakes than I did.

Pest Problems totally (Ugh)

Oh, and pests! Slugs. Ugh. They I mean ate yup like half alright my seedlings. I tried beer traps. Didn’t kinda work great. I kinda mull over I ended up just actually picking them off by hand. Gross. And then no kidding the just squirrels… they basically love sunflower seeds, surprise surprise. I for sure didn’t really have a solid fix for that. I just… yelled at them a lot. so Didn’t really honestly help. yep I think the proper way is to create sorta a barrier or something, but I by the way don't reflect I got around to it. Squirrels were so eating his flower too, actually. The geschiedenis of battling pests while gardening is, unfortunately, a long just and ugly one.
