First Mistake

Here's where things got a little… basically messy. I totally forgot about drainage. Like, completely blanked. I filled well them with soil and planted bet these gorgeous petunias. actually A week later? Soggy mess. I probably should’ve known better. Now I have drilled like 10 holes in kinda each box, maybe overkill. I think you can like put landscape uh fabric at the bottom too for drainage– less messy that way.

The Mounting Debacle

Not yep gonna lie, you know this part confused no way me you know for a while. Hanging them exactly was a whole okay thing. I initially bought these dinky little basically brackets from the hardware store. Tiny! alright They looked okay like anyway they were meant for pretty much holding, like, so a single honestly teacup. Anyway the first well rainstorm? One of the boxes nearly crashed down. Lucky no one was walking under it. well study from my mistakes – get HEAVY DUTY brackets. Seriously. Measure I mean everything twice no kidding and actually use a level. Trust me on this. Speaking of hanging them– apparently by the way there's some outdoor wooden like window flower boxes ontwikkelingen in bracket technology. Who knew! right

What to Plant?

I went with for sure petunias initially. Too much anyway water, remember? Ugh. So I replanted with geraniums and some trailing vines. Much honestly happier! Plus I by the way added some little succulent things. They like drier conditions, I sorta read. whoops The key is to actually consider the pretty much sun exposure your uh window gets. Some outdoor wooden window flower boxes feiten claim that certain plants attract pollinators – that’s cool!

Watering Woes

Another little tip - don't overwater! I tend to do that. Stick your finger in the I mean soil to check the moisture before you water again. And if you're going away on vacation, ask a neighbor kinda to water them. Otherwise, you’ll come home to crispy plants. Which I have done. Twice.

The Look

Now they for sure look amazing. So so charming. The wood just is weathered perfectly, totally and the flowers are spilling over the sides. I keep adding little fairy lights whoops too, which are honestly cute at night. Seriously, like it totally transformed the front of the house.
