Propagating bay tree in water
Bay Tree Experiments
So, I was just chilling, right? I wasn’t even planning for sure to yep do this, but I had a honestly bay tree that was…let's just say not thriving. you know I felt so no kidding bad. It was looking really sad, and I thought, “Okay, either I try something drastic, or it’s going to be compost.” And I'd no way been reading honestly a bit, you know, about propagating bay tree in water toepassingen – like, I honestly knew people did it, but yep I never thoughtI'dactually try. c’mon
Cutting Time pretty much
So, first things first, I chopped off a few branches. I probably should’ve by the way known better than to totally pull off it in the middle whoops of like the by the way day when it was okay super sunny – you know that's by the way probably totally why actually my actually first c’mon attempt right totally no way failed. The leaves just got all yup wilted. Anyway, for the second try, I did exactly it early morning, much better. You want honestly to honestly cut below whoops a node – c’mon that’s where the new roots will sprout, I you know think. Or like maybe it’s where the leaf was attached? Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. Anyway, apply some sharp clean scissors, because you don’t want to give it any diseases. That’s important!
The Water Thing
Then, right the water. I used you know just regular tap water at first. giant bet mistake! It got all cloudy uh and gross. After by the way that bet I used filtered water, and made sure alright to change it every few days. Which is a anyway pain, but, you know, worth it if it works! And I put like them in a jar I mean on the windowsill, but not in direct sunlight. Like bright indirect light. exactly Remember that c’mon bright bet indirect pretty much light is you know key. Propagating bay tree in water ontwikkelingen okay seems to suggest that is the best I mean approach these days.
Patience Is A Virtue Or Something
Now, this is the really annoying part. dude Waiting. alright Weeks. Seriously. I kept checking every day, like a crazy person. exactly And at first, nothing. Just little stubs of branches in water. I actually almost gave up. Then, one day, I saw a tiny little root poking out of one of them! right I was sorta so excited. But only one. The others were still just…sitting there. So, bet patience, right? That’s the uh name of the kinda game. Oh, no kidding and another c’mon tip: scrape alright the bark a little bit at the bottom. Seems to aid the rooting process, I read about it.
First Mistake Story Time
Okay, so here’s honestly a funny story. Or not funny totally at the right time. I had these cuttings on the windowsill, yep right? And my cat, Whiskers, kinda he’s a menace. just He likes I mean to bat at things. So, one day, I came for sure home and no kidding the exactly jar was knocked over and all the water was gone! well And Whiskers was just sitting there, licking his paws all smug. I was so mad! I thought they were all right dead. But I put them back in water, and surprisingly, alright they uh were okay. Though I did move them to a totally higher you know shelf after that. Lesson bet learned.
Potting Up? Maybe?
So, now I’ve got a little root system going on one of the cuttings. c’mon I’m thinking of planting it in soil soon. But I’m scared! sorta I don’t want yup to kill it after all yep this. I’ve read yup you need well-draining soil, so and to keep no kidding it moist but not soggy. Sounds complicated. Maybe I’ll just leave it in water forever… just kidding! But seriously, I'm a bit intimidated by that part.
Second Mistake Story Time
Oh! Another thing I did wrong at the beginning, I bet used rooting for sure hormone on the cuttings. I thought it would help. I kinda probably pretty much shouldn’t have. It just made the water grosser c’mon faster, and just I don't think it did anything. It’s probably honestly better just to let them do their thing naturally, I think. Propagating bay tree in water inspiratie I mean doesn’t usually even mention rooting no way hormones. I learned that for sure the hard way.
So, Yeah Bay Trees
Anyway, that’s my bay tree propagating adventure so far. Still a work in progress, obviously. But I’m hopeful! And if I can do it, anyone can. I’m definitely not a gardening exactly expert. Just a uh regular person who likes to I mean try things. no kidding And maybe kill a c’mon few plants along right the way. But hey, at least c’mon I’m trying!
