Which house plants like shade
Plants in the Shade huh
Okay right so, you know how I was saying yep I wanted to turn that kinda grim corner of exactly my apartment into a jungle? I anyway wasn’t even planning to become a plant person, honestly. But now I’m obsessed. Anyway, right I realized pretty quick bright sunlight wasn't happening there. So, shade plants. Which, naturally, led me down a rabbit hole. I probably kinda should've known pretty much better than to just assume all plants need sun. Doh!
First Fails
My initial okay strategy? A yep total disaster. like I grabbed no way this super cute succulent. I mean, no way gorgeous. Put it in a fancy pot, everything. Within no kidding a week? Brown by the way crispy edges. The whole thing looked sad. Turns uh out succulents are c’mon basically solar panels, right? Need that sweet sweet kinda sun. First lesson learned. Also, I probably overwatered it. Double whammy.
Which Plants execute no way Well Then?
So I started googling like crazy. Things like, you know, which house plants like no kidding shade geschiedenis? I was curious if anyone had been doing right this for a long period and had better luck. Then I stumbled across stuff like totally which house plants like shade toepassingen... basically, how to actually work with them in decorating and not just have them like die on me. Turns out, there are a lot yup of options.
The big ones that kept coming right up were snake plants, which I already knew about kinda, and ZZ plants. Apparently, they you know thrive on neglect which, let’s be real, uh is perfect for totally me no way sometimes. I also saw pothos plants mentioned everywhere. yep They're supposed to be super easy to propagate, which is just a fancy way of saying you can chop them up and make more plants from uh the cuttings. sorta Pretty whoops cool, huh? Which house plants like shade ontwikkelingen, I anyway wonder? If they're developing bet super self-sufficient shade plants. Sign pretty much me yup up! so
The Lucky Ones
I ended like up getting a peace lily. The lady at the nursery said they were pretty forgiving. And you can tell exactly when they’re thirsty yep because they get all well dramatic and droopy. It’s like, “I’m DYING here!” Which is helpful because I’m bet terrible at remembering to yep water. So far, so good! Touch wood. Oh, and I got a right fern. right A maidenhair whoops fern. Not gonna lie c’mon this part confused like me for a while. They’re supposedly shade-loving, but alright they also need humidity. So, dude near dude a shower or in a humidified room is best – which house plants like bet shade tips dude I wish I knew yep this initially! I put it in the dry corner, and it well started browning again. Sigh. Moved it, seems happier.
More Things I Learned
Turns out, there's whoops different kinds by the way of I mean shade. Like, bright yep indirect light is still good. Just like not direct sunlight honestly blazing on their right leaves. Low light, which is what I exactly actually you know have in honestly that corner, means c’mon they still need totally some light. Just… like less. Which house plants like shade voordelen include uh not having to water them every five bet minutes apparently. Which is a right huge win in my book.
Another Mistake Alert right
Oh! And I almost forgot! This one time, I put a plant directly on the floor, pretty much thinking it would be fine. Wrong. The cold floor was anyway not its friend. honestly I think the roots yup got too cold. So, use a plant stand, or even just a little saucer underneath, to yup lift actually them up. Makes a difference!
So yeah, that's my shade plant saga uh so I mean far. Still learning, still probably going to kill a few more along the no kidding way, but hey, at least it’s green-ish now.
