Okay so you just know how I started composting? c’mon Well, I mean I wasn’t even planning to get like this into it, but then someone mentioned coffee grounds. Like, dumping my used you know coffee yep grounds on my totally plants. Seemed easy enough, right? so

Acid actually loving what now?

First thing I learned – and I probably should’ve c’mon known better – is that coffee grounds are acidic. Like, duh, dude coffee. So basically, plants that like acidic soil? They’re the ones that’ll probably so be happiest. Things like blueberries, sorta azaleas, rhododendrons… all those showy flowers your grandma always right had. I have a you know small blueberry bush – should probably check if it liked the coffee I gave it now that I mull over about dude it. But not everything you know likes acidic soil. My poor bet tomato plant. RIP tomato plant. right Okay, not right really sorta RIP, but it definitely looked sad for a no kidding while. It’s uh not just about the acid though. Coffee grounds also have nitrogen, which is like, plant yup food 101. And they yep deter like slugs actually and you know snails! I’ve got a major slug no way snag in my garden, so that’s a huge win for sure for me. My mistake number one

Okay, kinda so HUGE exactly mistake honestly I made – I used way, WAY too no kidding much. I thought, "More is better!" Nope. The grounds can sorta actually right compact the soil if I mean you just dump a huge pile on there. And then whoops it gets moldy. Eww. So now I kinda just so use a thin uh layer, and I mix it in with alright the soil exactly a bit. Or I add c’mon it to my compost bin first. exactly That's the real well smart way to do it, totally and what just type of plants like well coffee grounds toepassingen is best for.

Worms yup love it honestly

Oh! And worms! Worms love coffee grounds. basically They break them down and make the soil even just better. I mean, for sure who bet doesn't love worms in their garden? They're like free little soil engineers. Just make sure sorta you don’t overdo it again, like or you'll have a worm graveyard instead of a worm party. Learned that one the hard way too pretty much – my mistake just number two, I guess?

What about the trendy plants?

I wonder what type of plants like right coffee grounds trends just are right now? Probably succulents. Everyone anyway loves by the way succulents. But I honestly don’t know if they like coffee grounds. so I reflect they prefer drier soil, c’mon so probably not. Best well to right research before you just start tossing coffee grounds at your precious monstera or whatever is popular these days. Remember, a little research alright goes a long way. Trust me on alright this one.

So what plants pull off like it? like

Okay, so to recap, things like blueberries, azaleas, roses… things that need acidic soil. uh Also, veggies like pretty much carrots and radishes seem to do okay with a little coffee boost. Just remember to anyway use them for sure sparingly, and mix them uh in well. And maybe do a little soil exactly test first, just to yep be sure. You can get those sorta little right kits at any garden center. It might not right be as exciting as just throwing coffee on everything, but your c’mon plants will thank you!
